CIVIL AIR PATROL C.A.P.
IS THE UNITED STATES AIRFORCE AUXILLARY and is
the fifth largest Airforce in the world. C.A.P. is forming a new unit at Frankfort. Those interested
in aviation training and patriotic support of our military should contact our local airport. Upcoming meetings will
be on Tuesday evenings for a two hour duration. 654-6275
A MODERN AIRPORT IN AN INDUSTRIAL PARK
Our's is a rural agricultural county. The vast majority of our land is farmed but
most residents have jobs connected more to industry and business than farming. We have a large industrial
park located surrounding a modern airport just a few miles from Interstate 65 connecting Indianapolis
and Chicago.
We are located near the center of a triangle formed by three larger cities. Northeast of us is Kokomo Indiana
an Industrial city. Northwest of us are the twin cities of Lafayette and west Lafayette Indiana, home of Purdue University,
the best aviation and engineering school in the Midwest. Southeast of us is Indianapolis Indiana. Each larger
city is easily drivable in less than an hour, while Chicago is only two hours North.
